🧑💻 The Role: Senior Content Strategist
As a Senior Content Strategist, you will be the architectural mind behind our clients’ content success. You will move beyond tactical execution to design the overarching strategy that connects content to business objectives like lead generation, authority building, and market positioning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Content Strategy & Planning (The Blueprint)
* Develop and Own the Strategy: Lead the creation of comprehensive, long-term content strategies for 3-5 major B2B clients, aligning their content goals directly with their sales and marketing KPIs.
* Gap Analysis & Opportunity Mapping: Conduct in-depth content audits, competitive analysis, and keyword research to identify high-value content gaps, new market opportunities, and areas for optimisation.
* Pillar & Cluster Development: Architect scalable content models (Pillar and Cluster) that ensure topical authority, improve internal linking, and drive significant organic search visibility.
* Audience Segmentation: Define and develop detailed buyer personas and map content experiences across all stages of the marketing and sales funnels (Awareness, Consideration, Decision).
2. SEO & Performance Leadership (The Engine)
* Technical Content SEO: Work closely with our Technical SEO team to ensure all content strategy adheres to the highest standards of search engine optimization, including site structure, page experience, and core web vitals.
* Forecasting & ROI: Develop data-backed content roadmaps that include traffic and conversion forecasts. Regularly report on the Return on Investment (ROI) of content initiatives to both internal stakeholders and clients.
* Performance Optimisation: Utilise tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Hotjar to monitor content performance, identify underperforming assets, and lead ongoing content refreshes and optimisation projects.
3. Content Oversight & Leadership (The Conductor)
* Editorial Direction: Oversee the editorial calendar, setting the standard for content quality, tone of voice, and brand compliance for a team of internal and freelance writers.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the strategic liaison between the SEO, Social Media, Design, and Client Services teams to ensure unified campaign execution.
* Mentorship: Provide guidance and feedback to junior strategists and writers, helping to grow their technical and strategic capabilities.
* Client Management: Present complex content strategies and performance reports to senior client stakeholders in a clear, compelling manner, maintaining exceptional client relationships.
